A former bachelor Trista Sutter has been considering changes with the franchise since she was in charge in 2003.

“I am very grateful that there were no social networks when I was there Bachelor and Bachelor“said the 52-year-old Sutter TV Insider in an interview published on Sunday, January 19. “We had bulletin boards, and I was a glutton for punishment and I would go and read them. There were trolls back then, but they just couldn’t access you directly. You had to read their comments on message boards. I did it and it wasn’t fun.”

She continued: “It would be very difficult for me. I’m really sensitive and it would be really hard for me to have people come up to me and tell me I’m safe. People dealt with death threats from the show, just by being themselves and trying to find love. It’s a little crazy. It has completely changed.”

More than two decades since the discovery of The One in Ryan SutterTrista continues to watch the hit ABC reality show. (Trista and Ryan, now 50, he got engaged during Bachelor season 1 and married in 2003. They have a son, Maxwell, 16, and a daughter, Blakesley, 15.)

“I feel like the premise of the show is what I continue to watch, which is that people find love in a very unconventional way,” Trista said. “That will never change for me. When we moved to Colorado and started our family, it was a conscious decision to create a quieter life away from the wild ride that happened around and after the wedding. I loved our life and raising our children in the mountains, and now we are in Denver.”

As Trista recently tried another reality show with Special forces: the toughest test in the worldRyan sparked concerns that their marriage was in shambles when he shared a series of cryptic posts via social media.

Trista, who was away on set of the Fox reality show when they were rumored to be dating, was unable to respond to speculation surrounding their relationship or explain why she was away – until her choice was revealed.

“Everyone is quick to assume the worst,” Trista exclusively said Us Weekly about the rumors surrounding her marriage. “I think it’s human nature, honestly. I mean, I didn’t know what happened to the world. I said, ‘You’ve all lost your minds.’ Excuse me, but why all the fuss about this?”

Trista recalled her phone being flooded with text messages from worried loved ones. “People were texting me non-stop, ‘Are you okay? What’s going on? Are you having a nervous breakdown? Are you divorced? Do you have a trial divorce? What’s going on?’” Trista said. “I say, ‘No, no, no, no, no’ to all these things. You’ll find out why and it will all make sense.”

Despite the chaos that arose, Trista gave the rumors a positive review. “I have to say it made me feel good that people actually care,” said Trista. “We have been married for 21 years. The show was a long time ago and the fact that people still care was very humbling and sweet to me, even though it was very chaotic.”
