Travis Kelce shares news about his film debut in Happy Gilmore 2.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, said on the Monday, Jan. 13, episode of ESPN The Pat McAfee Show that there are “several scenes” in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy and that recording was a “big load” of work.
“It was a dream come true. I thought SNL will be the highlight of my acting and showmanship or entertainment career. Working with Happy Gilmore himself, Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain,” he added, according to Diversity.
Kelce said working alongside Sandler was no different than working with the Chiefs coach Andy Reid.

“They are so professional and yet so much fun to work with. I felt like I was working with the Andy Reid of the acting world,” he said. “(Sandler) is just as cool off screen as he is on screen. It was a dream come true. That was great.”
NFL star publicly lobbied for the role in the continuation of the comedy during the May 2024 episode of him and his brother Jason Kelce“New Heights” podcast.

NetflixSpeaking about the theory that he could appear in the film, Travis said: “Man, I didn’t even know there was a job for Happy Gilmore 2.”
Travis added that he’s a “huge Sandman fan” and would jump at the chance to appear in a film with Sandler, but said that ultimately it’s all a “conspiracy theory.”
“I’ll look for extra… anything I can bring Happy Gilmorean Adam Sandler movie or set — count me in,” he added. “I will do everything in the film. I will be a part of it however I can.”

A few months later, in August 2024, Sandler confirmed that Travis will appear in the film.
“Travis … he mentioned it, so we have something nice for Travis,” Sandler, 58, said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The actor gushed about Travis, adding, “He’s a really nice guy. You would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stallion and he’s so funny.”
