Somehow, This Han Solo JPG Is Still Worth $120

Ten years ago I wrote an article for this page called “How the hell, this JPG from Han Solo worth $ 225?” The article referred to a new app from Topps Company Company under the name Star wars Card dealer where fans could open packages and trade digital cards from distant galaxy. At that time it was a novel and weird. That was before the NFTs were a matter. Before most people have heard of cryptocurrencies at all. The idea that someone would spend $ 225 to own Picture Han Solo They just could look at anywhere, it’s still quite foreign and people were fascinated.

I know that for the fact, because in the years since that article Star wars Card dealer. When I hear that, I usually apologize because I know how deep that obsession can go through. Not only do I stay hooked on the 2025 app, but I am as deep as always. You see, Star wars The card trader celebrates his 10-year-old anniversary this year, and in addition to returning all kinds of tickets for old school, the aforementioned JPG from Han Solo sold for $ 120 Only this week. Clearly, this thing is still strong, except that it may not be so strong. So what’s going on?

Like many applications you have on your phone, Star wars Card trader can be used in two ways. You can use a free currency to buy a package and collect cards casually, or you can spend money to access packages with better and rarer cards. When I started in 2015, I was a free guy. I didn’t want to spend the right money for a digital card I didn’t really own. And that way of thinking is why, around 2018, I stopped playing. All the sweetest cards were only available if you spent money and I just didn’t care. I was out.

Fast forward for two years. E -s -do from Topps -and has become my interest again And, like many people during the pandemic, I fell into a hard collection. I quickly decided to focus my collection on my favorite things Star wars:: Han Solo in Hoth Gear and Han Solo in carbonia– and looking at what was published in the years I was absent, I realized I missed a lot. At that time, Topps introduced cards called “gilded” that had a gold, silver or bronze border and were only available in the number of tickets of one, two or three. Other variants had similar low numbers, which means that they could own Han Solo (and every other character) only one or two people in the world. That, as a collector, was incredibly tempting.

As with any kind of collection, such a level of rarity means one thing: money. And then my whole perspective changed. Once I started spending money and getting newer, less frequent tickets, it was like finding a wormhole into a new world. I quickly discovered that there are top players on the application who spent a lot on the game. And not just $ 225 on one card. I’m talking about thousands of dollars on individual cards, and maybe tens of thousands on currency through the application. That was literally the only way they could collect some of the few, impressive collections they had … and I wanted some of that for myself.

But how to get it? Well, money, of course. But also, the help of something that has slowly developed over the years: a passionate database of fans. When I returned to the app, I found a growing, hectic community of collectors I could communicate with with the application, about the application. Facebook and Discord became a must have visited the place to talk to other users about new cards, evaluate stores and get encouragement when it comes to achieving a large goal. Without help Star wars Internet card traders community, I wouldn’t come back so deep.

Best of all, everything succeeded. In the last five years since returning to the app, I can safely say that I am probably the best Han Solo, and definitely the best Hoth Han and Carbonite Han, a digital card collection All over the world. Has it cost me thousands of dollars over the years to get it? That. Did it also require me to be diplomatically, convincing, and sometimes even explored to find users and cards that seemed otherwise unattainable? Also yes. This urge to collect the tickets of my favorite characters is mostly the reason why I remained so much invested, while so many others slid.

And don’t go wrong, there was a break. As things stand, the application is not what was at the beginning, nor is it even what was during the pandemic. The team behind the application, which was once available and engaged with the fans base, disappeared. Some sets are amazing and beautiful, while others are lazy and ugly. Consumers with big money for most inflated values and cheated on occasional users to believe their cards are worth more than they really are. The whole thing became shit, and many of the biggest fans of the application I met on the net have long been brought up.

Yet, this iconic Han Solo card just dropped a little: $ 225 in 2015, today $ 120.

Part of this is probably because Topps, for the anniversary, went to basics. He again introduced the original sets that fans loved at the very beginning. This includes “Vintage”, the Han Solo series was part. Now, however, it is in several variants (see above) and some are even less frequent. And, because of these more variants, the “vintage” cards are sold out in a few minutes on Saturday morning when they go live on the application. He created a nice blend of nostalgia for what the application used to be, mixed with more prominent and rare collector items that became the focus of most people.

Ten years later, not only that the idea of collecting a digital card became a little more normalized, but also in that Star wars It’s still fun as ever. At least for me. There were peaks, valleys and a lot of unpleasant moments, I prefer not to talk where I spent more money than I wanted to admit but I really love my Star wars Card collection. And, unlike most collections, this one comes with me wherever I go. It’s on my phone and I can get confused with him whenever I want.

Star wars Card merchant is still available in all applications stores. Download it and check but warn. It can be addiction. And if you are kept 2025 cardsSend me Millennium Falcon. I’m Darthgerm.
