Jason Tartick maybe had Erin Lichy on his podcast, but fans quickly assumed he was interviewing his ex-fiancée, Kaitlyn Bristowe.
“Do you want to know what happened when I reposted your story?” Tartick, 36, asked Lichy, 37, on the Monday, Jan. 20, episode of his “Business secrets” podcast. “A lot of people said, ‘Oh my God, I thought this was your ex-fiancée.’ I didn’t realize it, but one picture I put up (above) looked like that. I thought, ‘Oh…’.”
Tartick clarified that he doesn’t think Lichy and Bristowe, 39, “actually look alike”, but in that one photo his reaction was: “Oh my God.”
“They thought you were interviewing your ex-fiancée?” Lichy asked, to which Tartick replied, “They’re like, ‘I had to triple check right there.’ I said, ‘No,’ because that would be an interesting interview.”
Tartick and Bristowe announced in August 2023 that they had broken up after two years of engagement. The pair continued to offer insight into their split, with Bristowe hinting that Tartick had a “victim mentality” following their break-up.
“I don’t want to deny that he is in pain. I don’t want to dismiss that his feelings are valid and that his feelings hurt,” she said during a January 2024 episode of her podcast, “Off the Vine.” “I’ve talked to him so openly and honestly. We’ve been so transparent with each other that we have respect for each other.”
After Tartick went public with his girlfriend at the time Kat Stickler months later, Bristowe seemingly affected the relationship. “I’m fucking sick of people,” Bristowe wrote in various Instagram Story posts in June 2024. “What people will do for attention is make me leave the internet forever.”
Tartick and Stickler, 30, they have since separatedannouncing their decision to split in October 2024 after six months of dating. Bristowe, for his part, fueled love rumors with Zac Clark on New Year’s Eve 2023 — and quickly shot down rumors that she had been unfaithful to Tartick.
“One would think that by now I have gotten used to hatred. I am not Your words hurt. Your embarrassment hurts. Part of me feels a little sad and honestly embarrassed for you because this is not how you should be spending the first day of the new year,” Bristowe wrote via her Instagram Story in January 2024. “You should not be so invested in someone they don’t even know or respect . It’s actually scary, and I know your inward view might be even scarier. But bullying is next level. You are allowed to have opinions and feelings.”
She continued, “But you don’t even know the truth, and your HATE should actually have consequences. I’m really worried about your mental health. that’s not right. Not. Please. Shame on you for treating someone you don’t know like this. I didn’t kill anyone. I had a party with some of my favorite people. Shame. On. YOUR. Not me.”
In a separate post, Bristowe directly responded to the rumours, writing: “I’m here to say that there has never been an iota of cheating and I will not stand for these rumours. You are all BASTARDS here. Anyone. I swear on the lives of my dogs. There was no cheating. So we can leave it alone. Thanks!! Happy new year everyone. Go donate blood or something!”
