A series of wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood and the surrounding Los Angeles area on Tuesday, January 7, causing massive devastation. As of publication, 11 people have died as the fires have burned more than 37,000 hectares of land. In addition, more than 12,000 structures were reportedly destroyed, and tens of thousands of residents were forced from their homes under mandatory or voluntary evacuation orders.
As the wildfires continue to rage through the LA area, many victims are beginning to figure out their next steps. Jason wailed for his part later struggles with real estate faced on Friday, January 10.
“I’ve been searching the MLS (directory) trying to help displaced families from the fires find rental properties,” he said in an Instagram Story video. “I see dozens of examples of people trying to do this kind of thing, where they can’t get $9,500 or even $9,000, and then yesterday they raise the rent by over 30 percent to $12,000.”
While Jason pointed out that he is “all for free market capitalism,” he argued that natural disaster is “obviously being exploited” at the moment. Stause (43) agreed with her boss, with whom she was previously in a relationship in 2021.
“This is disgusting,” Stause wrote via her Instagram stories. “Other realtors who have a moral compass, please report to management.”
