How to Download Your TikTok Videos

A series of sharing options will then appear. You can choose the email option to send the file to yourself as an attachment or upload it to a cloud service like Google Drive. To download the file directly, swipe to the end of the Share options, tap More. There will be even more options. Look for options that allow you to save videos locally.

On Android, the best option to save to your phone will be labeled as Files by Google. Tap this icon to download the video to your phone, then use Android’s built-in Files app to preview the download. On iOS, look for the Save to Files option, then choose to save the video to either your device’s internal storage or your iCloud drive.

Download TikTok videos to your computer

The easiest option to collect your works is to download videos from TikTok’s website or desktop app. This process is very simple compared to the mobile option.

Go to your favorite video at TikTok.com and right-click on it. If you are watching your own video and are logged into your account, or if the video creator has marked their posts as downloadable, the Download Video option will appear in the right-click menu.

Press that option.

Congratulations, you made it! The video will be saved as an MP4 in your downloads folder.

If you don’t see an option to download a video when you right-click, it probably means the video creator hasn’t shared the video publicly, or selected to disable downloads.

Use screen recording

It’s not the neatest option, but you can also take a copy of the video by taking a screenshot on your phone. Screen capture basically takes a video of the screen; when turned on, it will record whatever is playing on your screen until you press Stop. Play a TikTok clip while recording your screen and you’ll have a quick and dirty copy saved to your device.

You will have to play the video all the way through in real time. Note that this will record everything that happens on the screen while you’re recording, so if a notification pops up or you swipe to another app, it’ll all be in the video. This also means you’ll still see all the menu buttons and text that are usually around the edges of the screen in a TikTok video, so it won’t be a perfectly clean copy of the video. But that’s better than nothing.

You can record your screen iOS and further Android phones with Android 11 or later.

On iOSgo to Settings, then Control Center. Tap the green plus sign Add button next to the Screen Capture option. This will add a small gray dot icon button to your home screen. Tap that and it will start recording the screen.

On Androidswipe down from the top of the screen to display the notifications and settings screen. From there, you may need to expand the menu at the top and swipe through the settings widgets. Look for Screen Record. Tap that and you’ll have options to record device audio and whether you want to show touches on the screen. Tap start to record.

What about the watermark?

If you’ve downloaded your videos, you’ve probably noticed the faint TikTok watermark in the frame. This watermark will appear on all videos you’ve posted as well as videos you download from other creators. Unfortunately, there is no official way to download a video directly from the platform after it has been published without adding that watermark. If the video is still in your drafts in the TikTok app—meaning you’ve recorded and edited it, but haven’t published it yet—you can select the Save Video option and download the unwatermarked version.

Generally, if you are video creationit’s best to use a separate video editing application to edit your video before posting it online. That way, you’ll always have the original cut, and you won’t have to worry about your distribution platform—and all your hard work—suddenly failing.
