Let’s take a short international trip to see the latest at Tokyo Disneyland, which has received an adorable Marvel overlay in its It’s a Small World attraction.
In the United States, it’s festival season at Walt Disney World with the opening of the pop culture fan favorite Art Festival at Epcot; at the Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain is celebrating 50 years. At Universal Studios Orlando, Wicked craze continues with a new look at its official store, and the Stella Nova Hotel prepares to welcome its first guests as the countdown to Epic Universe begins in earnest.
Things are quieter on the West Coast as Southern California rises to overcome the aftermath of the Los Angeles wildfires. Because of its position, Disneyland was able to remain open while people were evacuated to Anaheim. Universal Studios Hollywood closed briefly but reopened its doors when the fires moved away from the Studio City area, though caution should still be taken if you plan to visit (be sure to different air quality index readings).
To help Los Angeles heal, the film city is inviting Angelenos to the cinema for a series of free screenings in support of evacuees. Disney Studios, Paramount, Academy Museum and revival theaters offer free cinema escapes for family movies, and some theaters donate a percentage of the proceeds from other film screenings held in addition to ongoing donation drives. Amazing Disney fan art will debut on International Art Festival starting this week and will last until February 24th. Disney Wonderground artists including Yesenia Moises (IG: @YeseniaDraws), Dylan Bonner (IG: @DylanBonner90), Ryan Riller (IG: @RyanRiller_), Ashley Taylor (IG: @Ashley24Taylor), Steph Laberis (IG: @steph_laberis), and more will be debuting art that will be available first at the festival and later at all Disney Parks art stores.
