“I think it can be misconstrued in the world as, I’m doing it because I want to say I can do it, and that’s not really what it’s about,” Night agent star, 30, said during an appearance on Tuesday, January 14, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “For me, it’s immersing myself in the audience.”
Basso stars in the Netflix series as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who works at the White House as a Night Action phone operator. Fallon, 50, said that when the audience is watching Night agenthe wants them to feel that his performance is credible.
“I don’t want the audience to watch the show and then just as I’m about to get punched or thrown on my back or thrown on my back, you know. I feel like it’s a lie – said the actor. “I enjoy acting, I don’t like to lie.”
As for Bass, he believes there is a “difference” when it comes to performing stunts for “audience immersion” and “for believability.”
“They love Peter (and) it’s important to watch him take the shots, I think,” he explained. “And if that requires me to be thrown into a wall, then fine. It’s not the end of the world.”

Courtesy of NetflixOne stunt what was on the table for Bass was skydiving — something he already does in his personal life.
“(Netflix) pitched it as an idea, and then I said, ‘Oh, I’m already skydiving. I will do it,’ Basso said. “But then security called and said, ‘Yeah, stop it.'”
Fallon then showed a photo of Basso skydiving.

The late-night host then realized he was holding a photo of Bass in the air upside down. Basso joked that his photo in the sky “looked cooler on the other side” as his back was seemingly turned to the ground.
“I like that. That’s hard to do,” Fallon teased before striking a pose in his chair again. “You really have to bend your back.”
Last month, Basso took an epic leap from the Netflix bubble during a Christmas football game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. Basso parachuted from a hot air balloon in Houston. After completing the stunt, he subsequently revealed that it was an announcement for the second season Night agent dropped.
“It was cool to see Houston from a balloon. Definitely a memory!” Basso said yes Netflix’s Tudum in December 2024.
Night agent Season 2 premieres on Netflix on Thursday, January 23rd.
