Donald Trump made a lot of promises while running for the president. He has committed to reduce taxes, reduce prices, stems unproven migration, increase income and strengthen the US industry with new tariffs and end wars.
Some of his proposals were detailed in detail by his team of politics or presented him in the video “Agenda 47” on the website of his campaign. To others, the seemingly disabled-to-make-a-style of Trump style “Think Loud” and openness to the adoption of the ideas that others have suggested to him.
In his speech about the victory of November 6, he made it clear that he intended to keep the promises that sent him back to the White House: “I will get to know the simple motto: promises, promises.”
This became a slogan in his first month at the office, which was marked by a blizzard activity and a notable progress in achieving some of his goals.
In areas such as immigration and foreign policy, Trump has a wide power to act unilaterally – and he did so. In other areas, he opposed legal challenges and political obstacles. Many other promises he has made will ultimately demand that the Congress, under the narrow Republican control, have become permanent.
Here are some of Trump’s greatest vows on the first day and his efforts to turn them into reality.
Reduction of prices
What did he say:
“When I win, I’ll knock down prices right away, starting at the first day.” Press conference, August 2024
What did he do:
This may be his biggest challenge, given how often inflation is on top of the voter priority list during the election campaign. In his inaugural address, Trump promised to “march the huge forces of his cabinet to quickly reduce costs and prices, but it is not clear how. One way, he says, is an increase in drilling to reduce energy costs.
Smari’s price increase in January, the biggest monthly increase in 16 months, complicated Trump’s task. He blamed Joe Biden, who left his duty on January 20 and a democratic consumption. “I had nothing to do with it,” Trump said.
In other times, however, he admitted that it is difficult for us to control the presidents of prices. But economists warn that some of his policies could encourage inflation, and polls suggest that voters would like to see how they work more.
Mass deportations
What did he say:
“On the first day I will launch the biggest deportation program in American history to get out of criminals.” November 4, 2024
What did he do:
Immigration may be Trump’s main focus since he took power, with more than a dozen executive orders aimed at overhauling the system. It seems that his plan for deporting foreign nationals in the country, starting with those who are convicted of crimes, seems to have wide public support.
But it is uncertain whether he will fulfill his promise that he will deport so much. Several raids have made titles, but the number of people who have been removed is not recorded, according to daily data.
In his first month in power, the United States deported 37,660 people – less than a monthly average of 57,000 removal and refund in the last full year of Administration of Joe Biden, shows the data obtained from Reuters.
The DHS spokesman told the agency that the number of deportations from the BIDEN’S TERM was higher because the illegal immigration was higher. National border meetings decreased by 66% in January compared to 2024, towards the White House.
6. January pardons
What did he say:
“I’ll watch J6 early, maybe the first nine minutes.” Time magazine, December 2024
What did he do:
Truth to his word, hours after he laid the presidential oath, Trump exposed pardons and commutations who ran the way to release more than 1,500 people convicted or accused about American clutter. The police officer who hit that day, said the BBC that the pardons were “slap in the face.”
Ending the Ukrainian war
What did he say:
“Dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll do it – I’ll do it in 24 hours.” CNN City Hall, 2023
What did he do:
Trump has launched the first conversations between the US -Ai Russia since the beginning of the war, but Ukraine vowed to reject any contract without him, and there was an angry exchange between the leaders. President Volodymysky is afraid that the US president will fulfill his campaign promises to end the war, but under the conditions of Moscow and without security guarantees. There is also anxiety in European capital cities to be side and that Trump can disassemble some sanctions imposed on Russia as an invasion punishment.
Completed nationality in birth
What did he say:
Trump told NBC in December that “absolutely” planned to end citizenship about birth of the first day: “If one sets the foot only of the feet … on our country, congratulations. Now you are a citizen of the United States. “Let’s interrupt it.”
What did he do:
In one of his first works of his second Presidency, Trump ordered the completion of an automatic right to US citizenship currently received by almost anyone born on US soil. Nationality of birth is not the norm around the world, and Trump’s move targets on those who are in the United States -in illegally or on temporary visas.
Opponents say the plan is interfering with the right that was established by the amendment of the American Constitution almost 160 years ago. And that issue could be sent to the Supreme Court – the highest in America – after the appeal court ruled against Trump, supporting the legal block on his plan.
Tariffs of blankets in Canada and Mexico
What did he say:
“On January 20, as one of my many first executive orders, I will sign all the necessary documents for Mexico and Canada to charge 25% of tariffs on all products that come to the United States and its ridiculous open borders.” 25. November
What did he do:
On January 21, Trump announced that he would charge the tariffs on the blankets on February 1st, connecting them to the flow of drugs and migrants to the United States. The president has long seen the tariffs, which are imports of imports, as a way to protect the domestic industry and increase in revenue. Canada and Mexico said they would bring retaliation taxes to the US import. But Trump delayed the starting of the tariff for a month, after the promise of both countries to increase the limit implementation. There were also volatility and warnings of economic experts in the markets that these actions could increase prices.
