Selling Sunset’s Chrisshell Stause opens up about how she was “frozen with fear” during a wildfire evacuation in LA.
The reality star, 43, shared during her appearance on Wednesday, January 15 on Sherri that the fires and subsequent evacuation process brought back long-buried memories of watching her house burn when she was a child.
“When we had to evacuate, there was a fire as if it was in our yard. It was immediately like, ‘You have to go,'” she explained during the episode. “I think I kind of froze with fear. I forgot a little, when I was 12 years old, I watched my house burn.”
Stause added that the incident was “something you don’t think about. It happened so long ago.”
However, this caused her to “freeze” when it was time to evacuate. Stause deserved her husband, an Australian singer G Turn (real name Georgia Claire Flipo) with taking charge during evacuations while the reality TV star struggled with her past experience with fires.
“You don’t know how you will react. I think I wish I thought I was good in an emergency,” Stause continued. “But this kind of showed me that I really needed a little kick in the ass, and G was there to keep me focused and it was nice to have them.”
Stand back praised G Flip via Instagram Story last week as she reflected on her traumatic childhood experience.

While Stause was evacuated, she was lucky enough not to lose her home in the wildfires that ravaged parts of Los Angeles, including the exclusive Pacific Palisades area, Malibu, Santa Monica and the Hollywood Hills. It’s stuck one of many famous caught in a natural disaster. Stars as they are Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Paris Hilton and Miles Teller are among those whose houses burned down and turned into ruins.
Stause started seeing G Flip after her split Jason Oppenheim in late 2021. Stause and G Flip went on to marry in May 2023.
Stause is in an interview for Vogue in June 2022, telling the outlet, “just being around G (is) such an uplifting experience; if you’ve ever had the pleasure of being in the same room with them, you’d quickly understand what I mean. I love feeling that endless support of simply wanting the other person to be who they are.”
