Allison Holker and Stephen ‘tWitch’ boss NDA drama explained

Stephen “tWitch” Boss‘ The 2022 funeral reportedly caused family tensions over the use of non-disclosure agreements.

Two years after Boss died by suicide at the age of 40, several of his relatives and friends claimed that he was a widow. Allison Holker he allegedly forced them to sign NDA documents to attend the service.

“All of us had to sign some weird NDA attend his funeral—even your own mother, who you treated like trash all along,” So you think you can dance alum Courtney Plattwho competed with Boss in Season 4 before both returned as All-Stars in Season 7 along with Holker, reportedly via Instagram earlier this week. “Let’s just remember that you wouldn’t even have a husband if it weren’t for her.”

Holker’s daughter Weslie, 16, responded to Platt’s claims, stating that there was more to the story and explaining why NDAs were requested in the first place.

“Y’all love to discuss NDAs,” Weslie said in an Instagram video on Friday, Jan. 10. “But in one day, we had an open casket for Stephen. We had a funeral and then we had a week and my mom asked for an NDA to be signed when we saw Stephen’s body because God forbid someone who went to it took a photo of Stephen and put it on the internet or shared it with someone else. That’s the type of thing NDAs are for. It’s not like you can never talk about Stephen.”

Weslie further praised Holker, 36, for choosing to ask family members and friends to sign an NDA before the service.

“NDAs are so important, and if you disagree, that’s great,” she added. “I’m thankful my mom made sure everyone signed an NDA and made that rule.”

According to Weslie, her mom ended up being “lenient” on the NDA request that allegedly allowed Boss’s loved ones to attend the funeral.

“She understands at the end of the day, like this is family,” Weslie said. “So you all want to disparage her (while) she’s still sweet, she’s still kind, she’s still forgiving, but you have to know, even when Stephen was alive, people who attended our events had to sign NDAs. But now, just because my mom gives me the paper, it’s different.”

She added: “That whole day was supposed to be beautiful and instead, it was less than that. We wanted to say goodbye, but instead, people were shouting at each other and hitting my mom and, like, it’s a day taken away from her. He doesn’t remember it being the day we all wanted it to be because his family was different.”

Boss is survived by his parents, siblings, Holker and their children. In addition to Weslie, the two dancers share Maddox, 8, and Zaia, 5. (Weslie is Holker’s daughter from a previous relationship, who said Friday that Boss never legally adopted her despite “literally raising her” since she was a toddler. )

Holker recently wrote to her This far memoir about her life and marriage to Boss, prompting online criticism that she made public revealed Boss’s struggle with addiction and excerpted his personal diary entries. Boss’s family members and other friends accused Holker of allegedly trying to profit from his death, but she denied the claims and explained that she just wanted to shine extra in the spotlight about the prevalence and danger of drug abuse and mental health problems.

Weslie also slammed accusations that her mum is “money hungry” or looking for “more fame”.

“My mom is not like that. Trust me when I say my mom is good — she doesn’t need (the money),” Weslie stated. “It’s just disappointing. … My mom made an effort (with his family). She’s been trying as hard as she can, but this is kind of a tipping point where it’s like, this ends like, it’s over, just like, trying to keep the relationship going now it’s like you’re all burning bridges and it’s literally okay.”
