The UK Starmer confirms that Trump’s 10% levies will harm the British economy: “Nothing out of the table”

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Thursday to business bosses in his Downing Street office that “it is obvious that there will be an economic influence” from a 10 percent imposed on a British export to the United States.

“Last night, the President of the United States acted for his country, which is his term. Today I will act in the interest of Britain with mine,” Starmer said, adding that the trade negotiations would continue with the administration of Donald Trump and that we would “fight for the best job for Britain.”

Emphasizing that “no one wins in a trade war,” Starmer vowed to answer “pragmatism, cold and calm heads.”

“We have a series of levers at our disposal.

“Our intention remains to secure a (trade) job. But nothing is out of the table, he said.

“We have to understand that, as with defense and security, we also live for economics and trade in the changing world,” he said.
