The indisputable champion in the lightweight category Arthur Beterbiev and the challenger Dmitry Bivol both weighed on Friday in weighing for their headliner this Saturday, February 2nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Former WBA BIVOL (23-1, 12 ko) champion looked in great shape, but still showed a light bruise under his left eye of hard blows he received from Beterbiev in their previous fight on October 12, four months ago.
During the confrontation, Beterbiev (21-0, 20 ko) appeared larger and had a determined look toward him, as if he was ready to persecute the buffalo to overthrow him this time. Beterbiev came out of the knee surgery in his first fight and did not start to press up to the middle point.
Beterbiev dominated the last half of the fight, but many fans remember only the first part. They felt the buffalo won because of their fast start.
Weighing results
– Arthur Beterbiev: 175
– Dmitry buffalo: 174.1
“I thought it was close, but I made a divided decision buffalo. I thought it was good flanko, but you can’t discuss with a decision about Beterbiev,” Tedrence Crawford told Dazn Boxing to question who he felt deserved to win the first fight between between Arthur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bigul on October 12 last year in Riyadhu.
“They both feel like they can adapt to the entry into the second fight,” said Ade Oladipo. “Who do you think that needs to be adapted the most to achieve W?”
“I think the buffalo has to make the most adjustment because he touched a little later in the round, although he hit a little more. I think he should do a little more to win,” Crawford said.
