After announcing the birth their third child, a star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes shared an insight into how he spent his time in the hospital.
Immediately after the beginning of the new year, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed their second daughter Golden Raye into the world on Sunday, January 12.
According to to Sports IllustratedPatrick revealed during a press conference that he was able to sneak in playoff preparations while Brittany was preparing to give birth.
“I’m just supporting, you know. Brittany broke it. It was great to welcome another little girl into our family and see how my other children react to her,” said Patrick.
“It was great that football was on TV when I was in hospital, so I got to watch a bit,” he revealed.
“Brittany was kind enough to let us watch football while she was getting ready to give birth to our second daughter.”

Patrick and Brittany are also parents to 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
Patrick was present for the birth of this third child after the Chiefs clinched first place in the AFC, allowing them to advance to the first round of the playoffs.
“It was great that we said goodbye,” he told reporters, according to KSBY“just because you can really focus on just being in the hospital and being in the moment.”
“It is a special moment that many dads and moms have experienced, and these things are not forgotten. So I was glad to be there and support him in the best way possible.”
After the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid joked that “when you’re three, four and five are easy”, Patrick, who Reid described as a “great” father, said he was “good at three at the moment”.
